At the Forest Hills Aquatic Center, area residents discover aquatic recreation and embrace it as a lifelong activity. A comprehensive swimming program encourages students of all ages to enjoy the aquatic environment safely, while learning to swim, pursuing advanced training, or getting fit through aquatic exercise. Children’s American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim lessons are offered, in addition to private and semi-private swim lessons, and lifeguard training. A generous schedule of open swim, lap swim, water walking, and parent/child swim sessions allows families and individuals to enjoy the pool at their convenience.
Preschool Aquatic Classes
From six months to six years old, infants, toddlers and preschoolers can learn to be comfortable in the water while learning basic aquatic skills. Our youngest students enjoy the water securely with their parents right along side of them.
American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program
The American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program teaches students age five to seventeen the swimming skills needed to enjoy the water safely. From Introduction to Water Skills to Swimming and Skill Proficiency, young swimmers learn aquatic basics such as breathing, floating, and treading water; water entry dives; all major swimming strokes and turns; and water safety and rescue skills.
Adult Aquatic Exercise Classes
Get fit and stay fit using the resistance of water! Aquatic exercise classes include Swim Fit, Aqua Stretch and Flex, Splashercise, Swimmercise and several more. Most classes take place in medium depth water where participants can stand and a few are in the deep water diving well requiring exercisers to tread water. All levels of ability are welcome!
