Youth Enrichment Classes and Sports

For Forest Hills youth, enrichment classes and sports reinforce and expand upon the school-day experience. Selections that range from reading, math, and science to the arts, computers, athletics, sports, and beyond are offered through the fall, winter, and spring months as after-school classes. During the summer months, our popular program, Summer Academy, offers classes throughout the day, Mondays through Thursdays. Our classes address the interests and needs of preschool to high school students at a variety of convenient locations throughout the district.

Adult Enrichment Classes

Community Enrichment adult enrichment classes are offered quarterly on a spectrum of topics that appeal to adults of all ages and interests. We strive to stay in tune and in touch with the latest trends and hottest topics in, fitness, recreation, and personal development, while offering a well-rounded core of classes in the arts, foods and nutrition, music, and much more.

Senior Enrichment Activities and Classes

Our comprehensive seniors program includes biweekly luncheons followed by entertaining and educational programs of special interest, a number of seasonal and topical special events and services, plus the opportunity to enroll in selected adult enrichment classes at reduced rates.

Aquatic Program

The Forest Hills Aquatic Center serves the entire community with swimming, water safety and aquatic fitness classes for all ages, plus ample opportunities to enjoy lap swimming, water walking and open-swim family fun.

Become an Advertiser

We invite local businesses and professionals to join with us in our commitment to provide valuable lifelong learning opportunities to the Forest Hills community by participating in our advertising program. Funds generated through the sale of advertisements in our two publications help to support our programs.

Our printed Community Enrichment Class catalog is mailed three times a year to over 34,000 Forest Hills residents. Our senior-targeted publication, Encore Programs Guide is delivered quarterly to the homes of more than 2,000 active Forest Hills seniors. Our advertisers consistently report positive results from the ads they place in these locally popular publications.

Download an advertiser’s information packet for more details about ad sizes, deadlines, prices, and other information.

If you have questions regarding advertising, please contact Jean Kubiszewski at (616) 493-8950 or email her at jkubiszewski@fhps.net.

Teach a Course

Do You Know Something We Don’t? Become an Instructor!

Share your passion! Do you have expertise in an area that you would like to share (and earn some cash at the same time)? We are always looking for friendly and experienced people to teach fun, informative classes in a variety of areas. We are looking for instructors to teach languages, art, photography, design, technology/computer software, cooking, music, and fitness/sports/dance programs to adults. For youth classes, we are looking for instructors to teach languages, dance, music, art, technology, special interests, and fitness/sports programs to students in grades K-12.

If you have a unique talent or interest, complete a course proposal form (download one below) and send it to us. We are open to course suggestions that would have broad appeal to our community!

To download a course proposal packet, click below. Once we review your proposal, we will contact you to set up an appointment to discuss it in person if we are interested in offering your class. It’s that simple!
