We have two enrollment categories below: Kindergarten and 1st through 12th grade!

Kindergarten Enrollment
Step 1: Does your child meet the kindergarten-age requirement?
A recently enacted Michigan law amended the Revised School Code (MCL380.1147), which changed the minimum age requirement for a child enrolling in kindergarten. Children must turn 5 years of age on or before September 1, in order to register for school. If you are interested in the preschool programs available at Forest Hills, please visit the Child Services website. Children who turn 5 after September 1, and not later than December 1, may request an early entrance waiver to attend kindergarten by filling out the Kindergarten Early Entrance Waiver Form.

Step 2: Complete the following forms:
- Kindergarten Parent Questionnaire
- FHPS Kindergarten Preschool Questionnaire (if applicable from the previous preschool)
Step 3: Complete the pre-registration form
Once you have completed the following pre-registration form, upon approval, an email will be sent to the email address provided in the application. This approval will include further instructions on completing the enrollment process. Following the approval of your application, you will need to complete additional steps in the enrollment process. Please be sure to read the instructions completely.
Step 4: Complete the PowerSchool process
Follow the instructions in the approval email from your pre-registration form to access PowerSchool. If you are a NEW family in the district, you will receive information on how to set up access to PowerSchool. If you are an existing family with a student already enrolled in FHPS and you already have a PowerSchool account, you may add or “sync” your additional student to your account.
Step 5: Complete all of the required enrollment forms in PowerSchool
PowerSchool will lead you through a series of forms to complete. Among the steps required is to submit and upload two (2) proofs of residency. The following are tips on how you can use an iPhone or Android device to “scan” documents needed.
- With an Apple device, such as an iPhone or iPad, here is how you scan a document using your Notes section.
- With an Android device, here is how you scan a document using the Google Drive app.
Step 6: Congratulations! You are now enrolled!
Once your required enrollment documents have been received and approved through the enrollment process and the PowerSchool forms have been completed, the school office will contact you to discuss a start date and share school-specific documents and information with you.
