Acceptable Use Policy
The Forest Hills Public School District provides its students and staff access to a multitude of technology resources. The District believes that these resources provide incredible opportunities to enhance learning and improve communication within our community and with the global community beyond our campus. The advantages of having access to these resources are far greater than any potential downside. However, with the privilege of access comes great responsibility for students, teachers, staff and families. The District expects all community members to exercise appropriate personal responsibility in their use of these resources. Our policies are intended to promote the most effective, safe, productive, and instructionally sound uses of networked information and communication tools. In accordance with Forest Hills Public Schools Board Policy 7540.03, the district makes every effort to protect its students from exposure to Internet materials that are harmful or explicit. The District maintains a system of Internet content filtering devices and software controls that meet federal standards established in the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA).
The FHPS PowerSchool ParentPortal is your access point into our student information database. Families may log into ParentPortal to view their student’s attendance and grades information, their emergency contact information on file, and the preferences on how they would like to receive our school notifications via SchoolMessenger.

The designers of our PowerSchool system have mobile apps available to parents and students via Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store. To download the apps, click the graphic below that is appropriate for your device.
Food Service Menu App
Forest Hills Public Schools, in partnership with Chartwells K12, is now using Nutrislice to publish our school menus to a new interactive website. In addition, you may download a free app for a smartphone or mobile device to view things when you’re on the go. The new website and app allow you to see menu item descriptions and photographs, filter common food allergens, translate the menus into another language, view carb counts and calories, and much more.

Family Resources for Computer/Technology Purchase
Forest Hills Public Schools prides itself on preparing learners for life in an evolving and expanding world. Technology and digital literacy have become an integral part of our society and has changed the way we access, view, and share information, as well as how we integrate technology into daily instruction at school and at home. Technology can be expensive, but there is a variety of avenues to explore if you would like to purchase a computer, laptop, Chromebook or other electronic device for your family or your student. Having an electronic device is not a requirement for school, but may be available for less than you think. We have put together a list of resources for you to explore if you are interested in obtaining an electronic device for free or at a reduced cost.
