Principal’s Welcome for Families, Aug. 1, 2017:
Dear Ada Elementary Families,
I hope your family is enjoying this beautiful Michigan summer! I am honored to be joining the Ada Elementary family as your new principal, and I look forward to working with the dynamic staff, dedicated families, and involved community members. Most of all, I look forward to working with our students to ensure all learners achieve their individual potential, as we continue the outstanding tradition of Ada Elementary School.
This upcoming school year will be my 19th as an educator, and I maintain a relentless commitment to putting children at the center of our focus in education. I truly believe all learners should be encouraged, guided, and supported to achieve their individual potential. This marks my seventh year in Michigan, and I have completely fallen in love with “The Mitten State.” I have been fortunate enough to teach and lead in four other states, before my move to Michigan. My family originates from Fredericksburg, Texas, where my parents currently live on a beautiful ranch. We try to get back as often as possible! My husband is a Physical Education teacher for Hudsonville Public Schools, and we reside in Hudsonville with our children. We have a house full of teenagers, so life is busy, interesting, and endless amounts of fun!
I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality learning experience. As a parent myself, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. By working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met. A productive partnership begins with communication. I believe this is truly key to a successful educational experience. Along with our traditional communication avenues, we will have a few new social media sites that will allow me to share the great things happening at Ada Elementary. I would invite you to sign up for Ada Families Remind Text Messages by texting @adafhps to the number 81010. I will be using Remind to keep you informed, along with our email news system. There are a lot of important dates and information coming soon. Please follow Ada Elementary at:
On behalf of the amazing Ada staff, I offer a warm welcome to an exciting school year ahead. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. My door is always open and I would encourage you to contact me if you ever need anything. I look forward to meeting all of our families soon. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Sincerely,
Kim Van Antwerp kvanantwerp@fhps.net
