Welcome to Another Year of Athletics at CMS!

Athletics Offered

Co-Ed Cross Country
Girls Volleyball
  • Tryouts: Aug. 26-28, 2024, East/West Gym (please no parents)
    • 7th grade: 3-4:15 p.m.
    • 8th grade: 4:15-5:30 p.m.
    • Wear a T-shirt (with name on it if possible), shorts and gym shoes. Athletes can change in the locker rooms.
  • Practices: Similar times as above, Monday-Thursday (rare occasion Friday)
    • A/B teams will alternate practice times throughout the year.
  • Participation fee: $75 A/B team; $50 for rec. team
  • Registration available through Final Forms

Boys Basketball
  • Tryouts October 22, 24, 25 East/West Gym (please no parents)
    • 7th grade: 3-4:15 p.m.
    • 8th grade: 4:15-5:30 p.m.

Wrestling
Co-Ed Track
  • Gym Week March 17th- 21st:
    ○ Practice will be held indoors from 3:00 to 4:00 PM in the gym.
  • Outdoor Test Days:
    ○ Dates: March 25th – March 28th
    ○ Time: 3:15 to 4:30 PM
    ○ Location: FHC Track
    ○ Note: Please ensure your child dresses appropriately for the weather
  • Pre-Spring Break Practice:
    ○ Practices will run from 3:15 to 4:00 PM at the track. If the weather is poor, practice will move indoors.
    ○ Spring Break Practice (Optional):
    ○ Time: 3:15 to 4:00 PM at the track
    ○ Note: Weather-dependent; if conditions are poor, practice may be canceled.
  • Regular Practice Schedule:
    ○ Days: Monday – Friday
    ○ Time: 3:15 to 4:30 PM
    ○ Location: On the track
    ○ Dress Code: Please ensure students dress appropriately for the weather.
    ○ Fridays: Practice may be canceled or rescheduled based on meets. Updates will be communicated via email.
  • High School Meet Days Impacting Middle School Practice:
    ○ April 29: Practice will run from 3:15 to 4:30 PM.

  • Girls Swimming and Diving – October 23 One team, all middle schools combined.
  • Boys Swimming and Diving – January 15 One team, all middle schools combined.
  • Girls Water Polo – March 11 One team, all middle schools combined.
  • Girls Tennis – March 20 CMS, EMS, NMS

Parents/Guardians of Athletes

When your child participates in the school interscholastic athletic program, the parents/guardians of these student-athletes also commit themselves to certain responsibilities and obligations, which are outlined in the Athletic Handbook. Your signature on the Athletic Contract, along with the signature of your student-athlete, indicates that you understand and accept those responsibilities and obligations and agree to cooperate with school personnel to ensure that the Athletic Code is followed. As fans and spectators of athletic events, parents/guardians of athletes play a special role in supporting their athlete, the coach, and the team. Parents/ Guardians of athletes are expected and encouraged to model good sportsmanship at all times during athletic events. All are invited to join the Athletic Boosters and become part of the longstanding traditions associated with interscholastic athletic support in Forest Hills.
