Additional Food Assistance Resources

November 1, 2025 Posted In: FHPS District News

We know there is ongoing concern about the lapse in funding of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Families can find the latest updates from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The lapse in funding to SNAP has not impacted the free school breakfast and lunch program for all FHPS students. Some additional local options that may be helpful to families include the following:

  • Kent County Pantry Resource Center Locations
  • Feeding America: Use zip code or address to find pantries
  • Access of West Michigan: Local Fresh Markets

If families need additional support, Michigan’s 2-1-1 hotline is available 24/7 and offers assistance in more than 180 languages. Families can dial 2-1-1 from any phone or visit mi211.org.
