Congratulations to two Forest Hills Public Schools students who advanced in the 2025 American Statistical Association’s Data Visualization Poster and Statistics Project competition. These students initially entered the competition through Grand Valley State University’s statistics department, participating in a local competition called the Michigan Statistics Poster Competition. According to GVSU’s website, the competition “supports the development of data analysis and communication skills in K-12 students, which are essential in our increasingly data-driven world. Annually, teachers throughout Michigan send hundreds of their students’ posters to GVSU, where they are judged in four grade-level categories: K-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12.” Winners in the local competition then move on to the national competition. Congratulations to our two student winners at the national level, Alyanna Cummings from Ada Vista and Jayden Ho from Northern Hills Middle School.
