FHPS high school students completed 2,368 exams at the end of last school year (an increase from 2,190 exams in 2023) in 28 different subjects. The average score was 3.5 with 80 percent of students scoring a 3 or better, potentially qualifying them for college credit. According to College Board, “the AP Scholar Awards recognize high school students who have demonstrated exemplary college-level achievement on AP exams. A roster of award recipients is provided online to their secondary schools and districts. Additionally, students can print a copy of their award certificate(s) online, and the awards are reflected on all score reports sent to colleges after awards are conferred.” More specifically for Forest Hills high school students:
- 179 students earned AP Scholar awards in May 2024. Of those, 146 were first-time recipients.
- 108 students earned AP Scholar with Honor awards. Of those, 96 were first-time recipients.
- 179 students earned AP Scholar with Distinction awards. Of those, 135 were first-time recipients and 45 earned that award for the second or even a third time! This is quite an accomplishment
