July 10, 2024 Posted In: FHPS District News

Forest Hills’ voters will be able to vote for two school board seats on the November 5, 2024, ballot. If you are interested in serving on the Forest Hills Public Schools Board of Education to serve the students, staff, and families in our district, here is what you need to know.

  • FHPS has two board of education seats up for re-election.
  • Board members are elected to six-year terms, which run from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2030.
  • Candidates need to file an Affidavit of Identity and Petition (with between 40 – 100 valid signatures) or a $100 filing fee with the Kent County Clerk/Election Coordinator by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.  Petitions can be obtained from the local or county clerk.
  • The election is on November 5, 2024.

Please feel free to contact the Forest Hills Public Schools administration office at 616-493-8800 or the Kent County Elections Department at 616-632-7650 for additional information. For additional information on what it means to be a public school board member, the Michigan Association of School Boards has created this candidate’s guide.
