Dear Forest Hills Public Schools Families, Staff, Students, and Community Members:
As valued members of the Forest Hills Public Schools district, your input and perspectives are considered integral
in shaping the future of your public school and in the selection of our next school superintendent. The FHPS
Board of Education hired Michigan Leadership Institute as the consulting firm to guide its search process for a
new superintendent. The board is excited to launch a survey to gather your input on key aspects that will guide
our search.
Your opinion matters, and your input will contribute significantly to identifying the most qualified candidates. This
survey is voluntary, but your participation is encouraged. The survey aims to capture your thoughts on three key
areas:
1) What are the unique skills, qualifications, and characteristics desired of the new superintendent?
2) What are the challenges facing Forest Hills Public Schools in the next three to five years?
3) What are the Points of Pride for Forest Hills Public Schools?
A superintendent’s leadership is important in continually moving a district toward improvement. Therefore, the
candidates for this position will be expected to possess and demonstrate various qualifications, skills, and
abilities, including the ability to help forge strong partnerships with teachers, students, families, and the
community.
Input provided on the survey will be collected anonymously by the Michigan Leadership Institute. Responses will
be kept confidential, and the collected insights will inform the school board about the themes generated in the key
focus areas.
The survey will be available on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, and close at 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8. Click here to
participate and share your input.
Thank you in advance for your time, thoughtful consideration, and commitment to the continued success of FHPS.
Sincerely,
Forest Hills Public Schools Board of Education
