FHPS Robotics Bicycle Drive

November 15, 2022 Posted In: FHPS District News

The FHPS Robotics team is helping remove transportation barriers in Grand Rapids one bike at a time! In a partnership with Upcycle Bikes, the Comets are looking to provide refugees and others with a means of transportation.

The team competes in the FIRST Robotics program, which believes giving back to the community is fundamental. This ongoing effort has already brought in 7 bikes, but they’re just getting started.

Do you have a bike you’re looking to get rid of? You can donate your unwanted or outdated adult bicycles (wheel sizes 26″ or larger) and have them picked up! Bikes do not have to be in rideable condition. The team will refurbish, repair, or dismantle for parts as needed.

Contact matwater@fhps.net with questions or to schedule your bicycle donation.
