Jennifer Funnell, a Muskegon native, has been teaching secondary visual arts since 2009. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI, followed by a Master of Arts (MA) in Art and Design from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO.
For over a decade, Jennifer enriched the lives of her students at Cherry Creek Schools in Colorado, where she taught a diverse range of art classes. Her exceptional contributions to education were recognized when she was honored as the Teacher of the Year at Grandview High School for the 2023-2024 academic year.
In the spring of 2024, Jennifer took a significant step in her artistic journey by publishing her first book, Easy Acrylic Painting: Beginner Tutorials for Small Still Lifes (Searchpress). Outside of her professional endeavors, Jennifer enjoys quality time with family and friends, live music, and seizes every opportunity to travel. Jennifer is looking forward to teaching art at Forest Hills Central!
