In case of an emergency, please call…
As the kindergarten parent nervously completes documents for the start of school, they may not realize a decade later they will have a network of fellow parents, grandparents, and caregivers who could easily fill the role of “emergency contact”. Ask any parent of a graduating senior this spring. The final music performance and, yes, the last rain soaked competition in the bleachers leaves parents misty eyed witnessing their child’s supersonic transformation from toddler to young adult. It is also a realization that carpools, grocery store conversations, dance photo sessions, team dinners, and road trips are ending. These shared experiences were with our “go to people” – our community. “Community” is woven into every aspect of our families’ lives in Forest Hills Public Schools before and after the bell rings.
In support of our mission, we are kicking off a strategic planning process that will further capture and communicate the winning aspirations for our district and align our stakeholders with the work supporting excellent teaching and learning that exemplifies our Guiding Principles. The community sits at the heart of this work. Watch for more information on this in the coming months.
