Opportunity to Support Central Woodlands!
The FHPS Foundation is hosting their Gala virtually on November 4th, 2020. While the event will look different, their goal is the same -to raise $150,000 to fully fund every need identified by the principals in the Support our School Initiative.
For a complete list of needs, please check out the Foundation’s webpage about the event.
Please consider a gift to support students and educators. Every gift helps.
The Foundation is also looking for hosts to help share information. Host information is also available on their website at fhpsf.org.
For more information, contact Jana Siminski at jsiminski@fhps.net or 616-493-8954.
Picture Days at Central Woodlands!
Geskus Photography Inc. will be at Central Woodlands on the mornings of Thursday, September 24, 2020 and Friday, September 25, 2020. They will be photographing all students and you do not have to bring payment at this time. You will be receiving proofs approximately one week after pictures are taken, and you will be allowed to order your photos at that time. When ordering, you will be able to customize the photos, change digital backgrounds, etc..
Please choose an outfit for school pictures that compliments the background rather than contrasts with it. The right clothing colors will bring attention to the face rather than the clothing.
Remember to bring your smiles!
Also, please remember that no payment is needed at this time.

Counselor Update
Both Mrs. Field, our 5th Grade Counselor, and Mrs. Bouley, our 6th Grade Counselor, have visited all classrooms conducting their introduction to the school counselor lesson. During this lesson, the students shared highlights and concerns surrounding COVID. This week the counselors were able to share some wonderful books with the students, both in person learning and virtual learning students. Mrs. Field read the book, The Day You Begin and Mrs. Bouley read the book, Whoosh!. Check out both of these books and have conversations with Central Woodlands’ students. Great discussion surrounded both of these amazing read alouds.
