Dear FHPS Families: Thank you for your support and patience as we continue to work collectively to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Here are a few updates:
- Thank you to our food service team; we distributed meals today at lunchtime to support 640 young people over the next several days! We will distribute more this evening.
- FHPS is scheduled to be back in session on Monday, April 13, 2020. This return date could be extended depending upon the need for additional mitigation strategies to slow the spread of COVID-19. We will inform you immediately in the event that this date changes.
- There is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)page on the district website. This page will be updated with additional questions and answers as necessary.
- Thank you to our teachers for providing significant amounts of resources, creative ideas, suggestions, and time to continue learning from home! We will be loaning devices to families for those in need of one. Additionally, Comcast is providing 60 days of internet service for free to qualifying families.
Many people have expressed frustration over the strategies of social distancing and isolating ourselves to our homes. These aggressive strategies are designed to slow the spread of the virus and prevent our hospitals from being overwhelmed as has happened in other countries. The more closely and completely we follow these strategies, the more effective they will be and the sooner we can begin to lift them. We appreciate everyone’s help in reminding our students to stay away from gathering at our schools and on district sites during these challenging times.
We will continue to share updates with you in the days and weeks to come. Thank you for your outpouring of support and resources. Working together, we can emerge from this crisis stronger and a closer-knit community.
With respect and appreciation,
