Forest Hills Public Schools is joining 529 local and 56 intermediate school districts across Michigan to celebrate January as School Board Recognition Month. The seven citizens as elected officials spend countless hours of unpaid time working to provide the best possible education for all students in our district. Even though January is set aside to show appreciation for these leaders, their contributions to our district reflect a year-round commitment to always making decisions based on what is best for students and all FHPS learners. Our school board members approach their volunteer work like it is a full-time job and they value their work on the board as important and significant. The job of a school board member is tough, the hours are long, and the thanks are few. Yet these dedicated individuals are always putting children first and in partnership with our community, are providing all learners with opportunities to acquire the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to build meaningful and productive lives. Join us and say, “Thank you,” to our seven board members, and email the board a note of appreciation to firstname.lastname@example.org.
