David Simpson, Ph.D., principal at Northern Hills Middle School, will present two breakout sessions at this year’s Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association’s annual conference. He will join with other middle school principals from Portage Public Schools, Mona Shores Public Schools, Vicksburg Community Schools, and Zeeland Public Schools, to present the sessions. In one session titled, “UnConference,” participants will learn how to break down the walls of isolation and serve as a vehicle to drive innovation across schools at the middle level. In the other session titled, “TED-Style: Leading with Courage, Heart, Instruction, Focus, and Resilience,” attendees will explore leadership through the lenses of these five leadership characteristics while they will be challenged to examine their own leadership styles, strengths, and impact. The annual conference is held in Traverse City at the beginning of December.
