Dr. Judy Walton, Eastern Middle School principal, will be one of the lead presenters at this year’s Continuous Improvement Conference coordinated by the Michigan Department of Education. Walton, along with Simeon Frang, curriculum director of Orchard View Schools in Muskegon, Michigan, will present on the importance of using student voice in improving school culture. Their session titled, “Who’s Talking, Who’s Listening? Student Voice in Continuous Improvement” will showcase how schools use student voice in their systems. They also will assist attendees in drafting a student voice implementation plan for their own use. The conference will be held in November at the Lansing Center in Lansing, Michigan.
