Northern Trails 5/6 School has a new sister school in Beijing, China. Northern Trails is home to our fifth- and sixth-grade Mandarin Chinese language immersion program and this sister school relationship helps build greater cultural, language, and educational connections for students and families. Beijing Affiliated Elementary School of Luhe High School started enrolling students in September 2014. The campus covers an area of 21,200 square meters, with a total construction area of 16,700 square meters. The school houses first- through sixth-grade including 24 educational classes. The school became a member school of UNESCO and won the first awards for being a “Beijing Civilized Campus.” The principal, Mrs. Sun Huiqing, is a senior teacher and has been engaged in elementary and secondary education for 38 years.
Some FHPS families and staff will visit this school during the summer when more than 60 adults and students take a trip to China in June.
