As part of the district’s ongoing work to ensure student and staff safety and security, we are pleased to announce that we are adding some important people to our team. We are expanding our partnership with Pine Rest with the addition of a second full-time mental health liaison and a part-time liaison. Eric VanBuskirk will be joining David Jangda in a full-time position and Mattie DeBoer will serve in the part-time capacity. Both of our new mental health liaisons have worked with Pine Rest for many years and are experienced with child and adolescent mental health and well-being. The district is also adding two additional School Resource Officers (SROs) through the Kent County Sheriff’s Department. Deputy Kresten Green and Deputy Ben Dunneback will join our current SRO, Deputy Jim Svoboda. Both Green and Dunneback have experience working with school-aged children and are excited about the opportunity to impact young lives through educational programming and building positive relationships with students. These officers will begin in the district in January of 2019.
