To continue to grow our community of readers in our schools, increase literacy, and just have students find joy in reading, Forest Hills Public Schools will share weekly reading tips. These tips will include helpful resources, community partners, and online links for additional information. Our first helpful link is the summer literacy challenge by Reading Rockets. This challenge states: For most families, it’s a challenge to keep kids reading and writing all summer. Suddenly 10 weeks of summer can feel like a very long time. Reading Rockets posts a literacy challenge for students and adults. It’s modest enough to be manageable–pick just one thing a week to kick start your week’s literary adventures. But it’s also challenging enough to include a wide range of literacy fun for the whole family. Download the summer literacy challenge from Reading Rockets and begin your literacy journey this week!
