With the summer months fast approaching, parents may wonder what they will do to keep active kids busy. FHPS has many options. First, Central, Eastern, and Northern high schools are offering summer youth sports camps. Camps are designed for students based on their grade level. Some camps begin at early elementary levels too. See the following links for more information.

Hundreds of camps also are available through enjoylearning.com and the FHPS Community Services program. LEGO camps, art camps, babysitting camps, physical fitness camps and many more are all open for registration. Their online catalog of spring-summer classes can be accessed here.
Additionally, FHPS offers a Summer Day Camp program. The Summer Day Camp is for FHPS students entering kindergarten through sixth grade. Child-adult ratios comply with the State of Michigan child care regulations and it is a licensed program. The fun, exciting summer program is designed to allow flexibility in scheduling; however, there is a minimum requirement of three days per week of attendance. Summer Day Camp begins June 13, runs through August 17, is located at Northern Trails 5/6 School, and runs daily from 6:45 a.m. until 6:15 p.m. To register, click here, or call the FHPS child care office, 616-493-8787.
If you’re looking for other camps or organizations that may offer summer activities, the FHPS web page called “Community Fliers” has additional links to summer programs and activities.
Finally, it is not too early to think fall sports too. Forest Hills Youth Football League has opened their online registration for the fall of 2018. FHYFL offers both flag and tackle options for student athletes. Flag football runs from kindergarten through sixth grade. Tackle football runs from third grade through eighth grade. Practice will begin the week of August 13, 2018. Register online by clicking here.
