Congratulations to Forest Hills Central High School assistant principal, Hillary Baker, on the release of a civics book she collaborated on and helped write called “Civic Life.” The book release is due in part to the MI Open Book Project, a multi-year initiative funded as part of the Technology Readiness Infrastructure Grant (TRIG). The grant empowers groups of master teachers to come together, collaborate, and develop an open education resource for use in classrooms around Michigan. The book can be downloaded in PDF version and in iBook format. Some of the topics covered in the book include: foundations of government, origins of American government, the Constitution, the meaning of citizenship, the three branches of government, public policy and much more.
