The first day of school in Forest Hills Public Schools is on Monday, August 28. However, if your student is enrolled in a secondary program operated by Kent ISD, classes start on August 21. This includes all programs offered at the Kent Career Tech Center, at the Kent Transition Center, Kent Innovation High School, MySchool@Kent, SuccessLink or one of the satellite programs at the Downtown Market, the Aviation Program at Ford International, Grand Rapids Community College, or the Health Science Early College Academy at the Cook DeVos campus downtown.
It is our hope this is a one-time occurrence, as it is our goal to establish a calendar for all programming that is consistent with all of the education options available to your student. A Frequently Asked Questions document is available here to help explain the staggered start among districts for this school year.
We strongly encourage students enrolled in these programs to attend their ISD program beginning August 21, as important informational, formative and safety instructions are provided that will create the foundation for a successful year in these programs.
Transportation will be provided to and from your high school for students enrolled in the Kent ISD secondary programs.
If you have questions, please contact your high school principal.
