Nearly 800 FHPS students, families, staff, and community members attended the recent showing of the movie “Hidden Figures.” The movie was coordinated by GLI Family Alliance thanks to the generosity of several community donors. The free screening of the film was in recognition of Women’s History Month and the importance that women have in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math. Following the film there was a brief discussion period that explored many movie themes. If you’d like a copy of the discussion questions and topics, we are providing it here. If you would like more information about the NASA pioneers featured in the film or learn more about the women who have shaped history, families are encouraged to visit the GLI library at Forest Hills Northern High School. This library contains a wealth of resources, and has several copies of the book “Hidden Figures” to borrow, including the young readers’ edition. For additional resources or information about the GLI library, please email Dawn McDonald, FHPS GLI coordinator.
