The FHPS team for the Awareness, Acceptance, and Advocacy of Mental Health is working hard to address all areas of a child’s mental health and well-being. AAA works with school counselors and other area professionals to bring speaker events and forums to the community on a variety of mental health topics. They also have created the Circle of Support. This group meets the third Thursday of the month. It helps parents and adults find support as they share with each other the challenges of raising a child with a mental health diagnosis or a child with similar symptoms. A school counselor leads and facilitates these meetings. Circle of Support meets at 7 p.m. at St. Robert’s Church (the group is not affiliated with any religious organization), located at 6477 Ada Dr., Ada, in room #204 on the second floor. Come into the building at entrance “F.” For more information about these group meetings, please email AAA at: AAACOS.FHPS@gmail.com, or contact your child’s school counselor.
