Media Center Website News

We’re happy to introduce our new district-wide media center website! You can reach the main site at media.fhps.net. It will serve as your springboard to many valuable district resources, including Follett Destiny, Gale, PowerSchool, Discovery Ed, and Naviance.

To access each school’s own unique media center webpage, use the drop-down menu at the bottom center of the home page. Besides the static links, the site will also feature a dynamic blog that will include book reviews, media center related news, information literacy tips, videos, reference resources, and more.

Finally, you’ll find several social media icons on the upper right side of the page. These will be used to keep our patrons current with what’s going on in the media center. If you have one of these social media accounts, we’d love to have you follow us.

When you get the opportunity, please take a minute to stop by and look around. If you like what you see, bookmark the site, or perhaps make it your homepage. And then let us know what you think!

He's BACK! Mark Wood Returns to the FAC for One Night Only!

On February 28, Mark Wood, along with his award winning wife and singer, Laura Kaye, drummer-son, Elijah Wood, and three members of his band from his Trans-Siberian Orchestra days will rock the Fine Arts Center once again with the FHN Chorale, Wind Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. Mark and his band will be in residence at FHN for two days conducting workshops with 171 FHN musicians in these three groups and then will perform a “trans-siberian” type event for our community. Mark Wood is an original member of the TSO, an international recording artist and Emmy winning composer. He has worked with Billy Joel, Celine Dion, and many others and has been seen on NBC’s Today show, CBS, and CNN and more showcasing his Electrify your Strings program for schools throughout the U.S.

Prior to the concert we will be raffling off a Mark Wood Stingray SV-5 Electric Violin, worth $1200! After the concert, Mark Wood and his band will be available for a meet and greet with all of his fans to sign autographs and take photographs. This is a family, friendly concert for children of all ages. Tickets are available from Kelly at olives5@comcast.net or from the FH Fine Arts Center Box Office starting February 4. All seats are $15 general admission, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. All ticket sales are cash or check only, and FH FAC purchases must be made in person (no phone orders). Tickets also will be sold at the door. This concert sold out in 2011, so don’t delay, get your tickets today, and prepare to be amazed!
