Essay Contest Winnters
Adventure, mystery, creativity, and Michigan history – a combination that any inspiring author would be enticed to include in a piece of writing. Mrs. Mathews’ Challenge Language Arts class was provided with this opportunity as they competed in “The Mickey Matson and the Cooperhead Conspiracy” writing contest. Challenged to incorporate at least two of the following: historic place, state bird, state flower, state tree, or state bird, students created adventure stories set in a local city/town in Michigan.
NHMS is pleased to announce that two of its 7th graders became finalists in the competition. Chase Morello placed 3rd with his tale of “Sleeping Bear”. Natalie Bradshaw’s “Beneath the Rose” amazed the judging panel earning her the Grand Prize. Amazing Writing Ability Students!
