Visit the Governor's Traveling Show Sponsored by Michigan Art Education Association
The Michigan Art Education Association has presented FHPS with a traveling art show comprised of thirty pieces of the finest art work produced by high school art students from across the state of Michigan. The exhibit is currently showing at the FH Administration Building 6590 Cascade Road (corner of Burton and Cascade), 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. We hope to have the exhibit until March 16.
Nearly five hundred works are submitted annually and are adjudicated in a series of regional and state level exhibits down to one hundred pieces. This final number becomes the Visual Art Exhibit at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival (MYAF) held each May at Western Michigan University. This traveling art show includes a piece by a former student from Forest Hills Central High School, Emily S., Class of 2011.
The Governor’s Traveling Show is literally the “best of the best” from the MYAF exhibit. Jurors choose thirty of the most outstanding pieces to travel in this exhibit for one year. The show moves from venue to venue and with the final display at the Governor’s Executive Office.
